I loved playing Monopoly with my family when I was a child even though some members of my family were prone to cheating. I don’t think a zombie board game is appropriate for a small child but the Walking Dead Monopoly board game might be a little more fun for teenagers than the standard game, especially if they are fans of the comics or TV show of the Walking Dead.
In the Walking Dead Monopoly, you won’t be buying up real estate and building houses and hotels on them. Your goal is to fortify locations such as Prison Block C or Downtown Woodbury using whatever resources you can find. Based off of Robert Kirkman’s comic series, you’ll notice that Currency is now Supplies, Hotels are Guard Towers, Luxury Tax has been replaced with Protection, and the board is populated with Walking Dead properties (like Father Gabriel’s Church).
The tokens are
- Michonne’s Katana
- Rick’s sheriff hat
- the R.V.
- Lucille (Negan’s bat)
- the Telephone
- Bucket of Body Parts.
People who haven’t read the comic books probably aren’t familiar with Negan or Lucille yet. I haven’t gotten to Negan in the comic books yet either but I know that his bat, Lucille, ends the life of a popular character. Whether or not this happens in the TV show or not, we don’t know. But we will find out soon as Negan will be appearing in the 2nd half of season 6 of the Walking Dead.
The Walking Dead Monopoly is for sale at the moment at the Lighter Side Co. for just $39.98.
