Zombieland was a 2009 original movie starring Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin. (See the Zombieland Movie Trailer.) It was a pretty funny movie and, of course, people wanted to see more. There was talk of a sequel (there is still some talk) but it never happened and then Amazon announced they were making a Zombieland TV show pilot. The Zombieland TV show pilot was released in April 2003 on Amazon.com. The feedback wasn’t that great and Amazon decided not to pick it up.
Our Zombieland series will not be moving forward on Amazon. Sad for everyone involved.

One of the problems people had with the pilot was that they used the same characters from the movie but with different actors. Of course there was no way they could enlist all those A-list actors for a TV show. One or two of them perhaps, but it would be too expensive to have them all. In a way, I agree with the detractors but creator Rhett Reese didn’t feel the same way.
I'll never understand the vehement hate the pilot received from die-hard Zombieland fans. You guys successfully hated it out of existence.

While the actors in the Zombieland TV show were good enough they definitely lacked the charisma of the original cast. It might have been better if they had just created new characters to exist in the Zombieland universe. Then if they ever did make a sequel, the new characters could play roles or make cameos or vice versa if the Zombieland TV show was a hit.

The main cast of the Zombieland TV show was Kirk Ward, Tyler Ross, Maiara Walsh and Izabela Vidovic. You can watch a low-resolution Daily Motion version of the Zombieland TV show below. It’s been a while since I watched the movie but watching this I did feel that they were trying to mimic the characters from the movie a little too much. I know that they are the same characters but really, once someone like Woody Harrelson plays a role, he owns it. Watch it and let us know what you think in the comments below.
Now we can just cross our fingers and hope for a Zombieland 2.
